Any compelling reasons to wait for the M1 Max Mini (vs. ordering M1 Max MBP now)?

My guess based on nothing.
Next Mac Mini comes with a M1 Pro die. It is an upgrade over the original M1. It is not as powerful as the M1 Max found on MBP so as to not cannibalize on those sales.
Gets an SD card, HDMI, 3 TB4 ports. Starts with 16GB of RAM and 256GB SSD.
Sold in the USA and other countries for around $1200.
For Greece as usual the price is at about 50% more, in Euros.

How are sales of a desktop going to cannibalize sales of a laptop...?

I do not see a lot of folks running around with a Mac mini, a USB-C portable monitor, a keyboard & mouse, AND a portable battery pack...?!? Folks that need that kind of portability just get a laptop...

I also am of a mind that I do not want to have an extra 14" or 16" screen in my desktop rig, just because I am using a laptop as a "desktop replacement"; just let me use the actual desktop machine, thanks...

No one has been asking for the return of the SD slot on the Mac minis...? And why three TB4 ports, will that fourth port also "cannibalize MacBook Pro laptop sales"...?

As for HDMI, maybe it gets bumped from 2.0 to 2.1, with the extra bandwidth needed coming from the deleted laptop display...?

Rumor has a redesigned Mac mini, being thinner (shorter), but the renders on that have zero venting, so doubtful on the render...

I can see a thinner (shorter) Mac mini, with proper venting, for the Mn-series SoCs...

I can also see a thicker (taller) Mac mini for the Mn Pro / Max series SoCs; allowing a larger heat sink & fan, which would allow better performance due to improved cooling capacity...?

All will be revealed by December 31, 2022...! ;^p
