Mine is C38 and the battery is fine. A few hours of usage only gets it down to 70%

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

I have DNP too. ATT 32 GB white. Great battery (lost 1% over 11 hours while sleeping).

Are you sure the first 3 numbers are the build week? This tool, which I believe was made for older iPhones, seems to indicate the first two characters actually identify the build location. For example:

"C2" = "China"
"C3" = "China"
"DN" = "China, Chengdu - Foxconn"
"DM" = "China - Foxconn"
"DR" = (unrecognized)

And this tool does somehow know about the production date despite changing any of the first 3 characters:

"Production Week: 40 (October)"
"Production Year: 2011"

I haven't figured out yet the year and week decoding. Changing the 5th character changes the week, but not in a predictable way (yet).

C39. After having draining issues I disconnected the 3G Microcell in my home. I'm now getting battery usage on par with my 4. Yesterday when I was connected to the Microcell I took the phone off the charger at 100% at around 8:30am. At 5pm I was at 35% with about 6hrs of standby and 3hrs of usage (usage consisted of texting, a couple of 5 minute calls, twitter, and Facebook). Today, not connected to the Microcell, I'm at 64% battery with the same usage as yesterday.

Wow good find.

Definitely not certain about those first three characters; it was however suggested by this thread, which of course is not an authoritative source of information but seemed reasonable.

By that tool, my phone was built last week, same week it was shipped!

I've got C39. 65 minutes of usage. 19 hrs 22 minutes of standby. Battery is 83%

DNQ is mine - Week 41 it says.

I have just 2 digits in my serial, 04. They are side by side.

Not really having much battery problems. Just the random dropping down to 97% when I unplug from power almost immediately.

c39 with the same problems.
Thank you for all who posted.. I thought i was just going crazy, or had a bum phone.
I turned the percentage off...it stare at it all day and watch it drain. its very distracting.

C39.

My batter life is pretty good.... Right now I am at 79% left with 1 hr 20min usage and 8 hrs 9 minutes standby.... I'm happy with that....

push email, bluetooth on, wifi on....brightness @ 50

lol same here. i just get paranoid seeing the % drop so i turned it off too. i prefer the graph as it shows less drastic changes. i only turn it back on to % as it gets close to dying so i can accurately judge the time i have left otherwise i will go bonkers and keep running power consumption calculations!

judging by the fact that there is consistent "bad" serial number it is hit and miss randomly i would say that there is no distinct correlation but it was a worthy attempt. it is not like the screen model thing on the mbp's. i think this is dependent on user settings/software more than the build date. cool thread though, it is almost like an easter egg checking these things :p

c38 here. 67% after 5hrs with heavy usage. Downloaded 2 apps played a lot of 3d games and surfed the web as well as playing with siri. Coming from android im happy with this.

Mine is DNRGH..
From UK.. bad battery

Production week: 40 (October)
Factory: DN (China, Chengdu - Foxconn)
