My kid has been saving money for a while and finally has enough to pay cash for a plus model iPhone. So I guess 7 plus it will be.

Unfortunately this is just after Black Friday deals so she missed out on all those.

Are there any deals out there now that I should look at? Best Buy had a deal where you get a minimum $100 gift card to Best Buy with purchase of a iPhone 7. That deal is good through tomorrow dec 10th.

Anything else out there?
[doublepost=1481315582][/doublepost]I take that back. Best Buy only offers the gift card on 7, not the plus model.

So definitely still looking for something to sweeten the deal.

Apple almost never has deals. Black Friday is the only one that I've ever heard of where they actually lower the price. However as a student he can qualify for the student discount which I believe is 10% off select items.

and this black friday they did not lower prices on anything. they gave gift cards. and the student discount is never on phones.

the OP is better checking target/bestbuy/walmart etc for deals.

Ok. That's what I figured. The Best Buy gift card thing looked perfect until I realized it was only on the non-plus models.

Keep in mind the Best Buy deal isn't in buying the phone outright. That "required activation", which basically means it needs to be a monthly installment or contract. This may not bother you at all (it's still a 0% loan and I believe that you can go pay it off after the initial two week period ends anyway), but figured I would mention it.

I would personally wait until just before Christmas if you can. I'm betting they (and others) sweeten the pot with $200-250. People think of Black Friday as the best deals, but you have the week before Christmas rush that is also very competitive.

Target has $50 on the plus model right now. Just FYI. Same deal. "Activation required." I believe the only caveat is that not all carriers are supported. I know T-Mobile is out.

Got an email from Best Buy this morning and they are giving a $250 gift card plus a little USB charging stick or whatever they are called with the purchase of ANY iPhone.

Took my kid over there this morning and got her the 128 gig 7+ in jet black.

The deal is only available today.

Lucky you. I bought my 7 Plus this weekend. My local Best Buy only had Rose Gold Plus models in stock. I can't believe how hard it is to find the 7 Plus 3 months later. One AT&T store had NO Plus models in stock and the other only had black. I wanted silver but bought the black because it was the only non-Rose Gold model in the entire city.

The gift card was available either with using at&t next program or buying outright. I did next but made sure we could pay in one shot and still get the gift card before I talked options with my kid.

A 'kid' (how old?) doesn't need a 7 plus. As a parent I respect that you want to get hime the best, but its sure as **** a 6 or 6s plus would be more than sufficient. Some great deals out there.

not true, that child will benefit HEAVILY from the full color cinema range of the P3 screen in addition to the immersive 'stereo' speakers to take in the Thomas Newman score/Ellen Degeneres dialogue, how else can they REALLY TRULY PROPERLY enjoy Finding Dory?

:p
