I am thinking about buying a refurbished Macbook Air for my wife from apple.com. Since it's a gift, I was curious to know if it came with the original box and all the original accessories that one would get it if it were purchased from a regular apple store. I can't seem to located this info from the apple website. Thanks!

Comes in a brown box, not the usual apple white box. But it does have all the regular accessories and such. Warranty is the same at 1 year.

It is a great way to save some cash.

Friend of mine had huge problems. It didn't work ok and had to eventually change it. Warranty is there luckily.

It goes through a more strict QC process. Many people on this forum, including myself, feel they are more likely to be free of defects.

    Go for it

I always try to buy refurbished first from the Apple Store. Like Chewie said, I think it has a better chance of working. And I've never received anything that looked less than brand new in original packaging, this included Macbook Pro, iMac, and iPod shuffles for gifts.

Tell your wife you're taking her out to a fancy dinner with the money you saved and she'll be fine! :D

Only difference is they are cheaper.

    And you can't customize them.
