Any experence with Crumpler Laptop bags

Uh... you can adjust a strap that's too long. 😀 The only problem would be if it was too short!

Actually, not always true. This short person has had messenger bags where the strap, even when adjusted to its shortest length, was still uncomfortably long on me. Or where adjusting the strap to a good length prevented me from having the shoulder pad in the right place, so I couldn't get it to a proper length without having the strap cutting into my shoulder.

Okay, first - were these Crumpler messenger bags? Because that's the topic of the thread.

If they were... which Crumpler bag has a shoulder pad that doesn't slide along the strap (that is, a pad that's not adjustable)?

I'm well aware of the topic of this thread and of how messenger bag straps work. As I said in my original post, however, I'd heard that the Crumpler straps were too long--that is, so long thateven when adjusted, they were not at a comfortable length. And from personal experience, I know this can be true of messenger bags in general. I was just asking for confirmation or correction from people who own Crumplers. I appreciate your comments, but I'd love to hear feedback from other people (especially shorter ones!) on this topic.

As for the shoulder pads, I've seen bags where the shoulder pads don't slide over the buckle, which make them impossible to move into the right position at certain lengths. I didn't know how the Crumpler shoulder pads work: I've never been able to find a local store that carries them--hence the need to ask questions in this forum. 🙂
