I sometimes use a magic mouse on my 13" MBA. I find the tracking speed is still not fast enough on the Air. I have to move my hand too far to get the cursor complely across the small screen. I came across this little bit of software and wondered how well it works:

I've read in forums where the software crashes or locks up Snow Leopard OS. Others love it.

    Thoughts?

I use Better Touch Tool with my Magic Mouse for my iMac with great results. I've loaded and tried to use it with my 11.6 Macbook Air. I've since quit using it on the MBA.

I don't know if it is the size of the trackpad or what, but BTT is a big ole POS on the Air. It "accepts" about 1 in 4 trackpad touches, and the regions of the trackpad are hit or miss. I'm not sure how it works on the 13" Air, but on the 11", it is a complete failure.

Using on my MBA. No problem.

Don't blame the software, blame the person using.

You have not experienced any system problems with this software? Slow down? Crashes? Lock ups?

Does it speed up the tracking speed of the magic mouse noticeably? Apple's software for the mouse seems so slow and requires so much mouse
    movement.

    Thanks so much.

What an arrogant, ignorant post. I suppose there are never any issues with software, it is always bug free.

I've never experienced any issues regarding crashes or lockups. Don't even notice it is running. Yes, it speeds up the tracking on the magic mouse.

My only issue with it is recognizing gestures on the trackpad of the 11" Air. The trackpad is a different size than the trackpad of other Macbooks, which is what I suspect the problem is.

BTT does seem to have issues on new MBA's

I LOOOVE BetterTouchTool, and it adds soo much funtionality to the MacBooks. The recent larger touch pads are fantastic and BTT actually lets you use their full potential - and it's FREE!. I wouldn't hesitate to pay for this this software. OK, enough rant.

I used BTT (and it's predecessor MultiClutch) on many Macbooks and MBP's, and it generally is great HOWEVER does seem to have some issues w/ my new 13" MBA. It works with most other shortcuts, but I've run into some gestures w/ sending alt-combinations. These issues didn't exist on previous MB/P's.

So if I'm in Opera, I'd assign a 3 finger swipe down to alt-tab, which switches to most recent tab. But it seems "sticky" in that it acts as if I'm still pressing alt (and it leaves the menu on screen waiting for further presses of tab to cycle through all open tabs) (this is similar to command-tab w/in the OS).

I'm using it on my 11" and i've used it on my Macbook Pro 13" before. it feels the same both ways. So far, i have had no problems. I sometimes use my magic mouse with it. without better touch tool, i would hate the magic mouse with passion.

BTT is a must. Haven't run into any problems on my MBA so far.
