So got a 41mm S8, ive had 45mm in the past and to be honest they were too big on my small girly wrists hence why I got a 41mm, it looks good but to me looks tiny and like a kids watch, did it take you long to get used to the difference in size? I also wear a Fenix 7 for workouts and that things a beast which may be adding to my difficulty in adjusting to a 41mm

I’ve had the 45mm and have also worn the Ultra on my 18cm wrist. I did, like you at one point have a Garmin Fenix 7 too but my daily is now a 41mm aluminium Silver Series 8 and it’s perfect. For an everyday Watch I want what I’m wearing to be able to slip under a cuff with ease and to hardly notice it’s there which the 41mm does. I still have a dedicated running watch so I don’t feel that I’m missing much from the 45 mm having a smaller screen. I don’t miss the bigger screen at all.

Edit: It only took a day to become accustomed to the smaller size and now I think it looks normal, when I put on my old series 7 it’s the one that looks odd!

Looks good. Yeah I don’t even know I’m wearing it which is a good thing. The fenix is the worst tbh and it’s my main running watch and it’s probably the worst, it’s so heavy and unless it’s pulled really tight it moves about. The 45mm on me did look kind of stupid tbh, like a phone attached to my arm lol. The 41mm is probably my perfect size, it’s just getting used to it which might take a while

I sold my Fenix 7 as I just never used it to it’s full potential plus the size made it cumbersome for me. I now wear a COROS and pair it with a chest strap for more accurate readings. I’m done with big and bigger watches, and phones for that matter. I’ve come to the realisation comfort trumps everything for me.

Up until recently always had the larger option. When I bought the AW8 I tried the smaller Watch just out of interest. It was an instant not for me. I’ve the Ultra now and no going back.

The bigger watch cases look too big on my small wrists, so I went with the 41mm.

The size is just right.

Only problem being that some corner complications can be hard to focus on.

I'm hoping that watchOS 10, with it's new widgets, will prevent me from having to rely on being able to view corner widgets.

Might be a bit of a European perspective here but I think the 41mm, especially in stainless steel looks like a normal watch, and it wears on the wrist similarly to most classic Swiss watches. The 45mm wears well for those with big wrists, but to me, it looks more like a fitness device and I find the overal dimensions and particularly the way the strap wraps around, less elegant. Might be controversial, but I don't really see the point of the stainless 45mm, now that the Ultra is here. If I wanted an all-in fitness device I would definitely go Ultra, but I would always, without any doubt, keep the 41mm for my daily watch.

Yep, I totally agree. I’ve been saying the same since Series 0.

I’m 6’2”, and I’ve only purchased the smaller AW models.
