I saw a couple on amazon, but they all had terrible reviews saying it was like a scam. Any suggestions? I am pretty careful with my computer, and I just want to make sure that it stays safe if I do accidentally drop it or it gets yanked off a table due to no magsafe.

I am looking at the same thing.

I contacted Apple Support and they told me they are still waiting for new stock. However I have seen a limited number of sellers on eBay and they have stock for the 13 and 15-inch. I have them on order so I'll see how they go.

The look similar to the old ones, just changed to the new dimensions.

I bet you saw the i-blason ones on Amazon. I was one of the ones who reviewed them after getting shipping notice back in November and then them telling me it didn't actually ship and they told me 3 different expected in stock dates before I finally cancelled the order. Funny thing is they cancelled and refunded and I actually received it two days later. Looks good quality and fits well but it was like pulling teeth dealing with the company.

I just received my I-Blason soft feeling hard shell. I like that it adds some grippiness to the MacBook Pro.

They initially labeled mine as shipping also when it had not yet. Odd. I wrote them and they offered a refund. I said to just please ship it as soon as they can. It showed up a week later.

I'm glad I didn't cancel. In addition to making it more grippy, it's not so ice cold first thing in the morning.

On my phone I only have with me a picture of the box. I took it because I thought the fluorescent pink on the box looked kind of cool and sent the pic to a friend working on a project where he needs to make some packaging decisions.

The actual case looks just like the pictures on Amazon.

Just ordered my 15" tonight and am surprised by the lack of hard shell cases. I emailed incase, the maker of the shell I use on my current mbp and they said they wouldn't have a product until April!!!

Stupid question maybe... how do shells affect heat dissipation?

They would have to I would think. The last time I used one it damaged the surface finish on my MBPro 15 and I remember how pissed I was that the thing I got to protect my device actually harmed it. The case maker knew it could harm the finish as in the very fine print it excluded any liability for doing so!

Slightly, not much. The bottom of hard cases have grilled openings, and the back is open where the fan blow out. Unless you're planning to run your computer at 100% for days on end, it shouldn't be an issue.

The trade-off, is it worth it to protect the corners of your MB from a fight with the floor or other furniture? I tend to think so and have always had hard cases on all my Macs laptops.
