I'm looking to downsize a little bit. I travel a lot, and I mean a lot. So portability is key

Is there a really solid portable monitor 15 inch+ that I can carry around in a carry-on and deploy in any new hotel or apartment I'm in?

I'd like to downsize from the 2018 15 inch to the upcoming 13 inch so I can travel a bit lighter and have more portability, but have a bigger screen when I'm in my own place

Thanks!

Would an iPad as 2nd monitor work for you? I use my 11" iPad Pro as secondary monitor and drawing tablet. Sidecar makes this easy to do. And the small size makes it easy to transport. You could also look at the 12.8" iPad if you need more real estate.

I like the idea of an iPad, I have the 11 from last year. I just tried Sidecar, and it mostly works. I'm just not very good at 2 monitors though. A lot of my workflow involves looking at one app or sheet at a time, I rarely need 2 open side by side. So I feel like Sidecar could work, but I'd have to change how I work (which is why I like the 15 inch mbp so much)

I have the first gen tho, don't know how G2 are.
First gen had 9.7" iPad retina panels.

I think these are practically the only type of product available.

I don't know how Sidecar works because none of my iPads can be upgraded to iPadOS 13, but for some time I used Duet Display app with cabled connection, it did not work all that well. Supposedly Sidecar is much better.

there's also this:
it's basically a board that allows you to connect a spare 15" retina macbook screen to MDP.
