Google search you get a bunch of shady sites with lots of adds and popups everywhere, what sites do you all use or recommend with lots of choices and you can pick the dimensions (screen size) so you dont have to crop or zoom the photo

It really depends on what kind of wallpapers you like. I used to use interfacelift until it was abandoned a few years ago. Since then I’ve been using https://wallpaperhub.app/. Most if not all wallpapers there are provided by Microsoft, so it should be safe to use.

I'm using a Google Chrome extension (inside Vivaldi) that allows me to specify the size of images I want to search for on Google. This is beyond the small, medium, large offering they give you. And large is never large.

Unfortunately, I have never found a wallpaper site that offers anything that encompasses ALL I am looking for at the time I am searching. At best, if I find anything useful, it becomes just one element of a larger series of images I manipulate in Photoshop to get what I want.

.. or create them myself.
I'd love to be able to do this. It'd make getting exactly what I want much easier. Unfortunately for me I've never been able to take what I visualize in my head and create it from scratch.

I'm a graphic designer by trade so I work with images all day, but my strength is not in image creation, just repurposing. It's got to be nice to be able to just create whatever you want. I envy you. :)

thanks for all the replies, I mainly uses gaming themed wall papers which typically are easier to find for desktop size screens, maybe I need to learn how to use PS (well Gimp since its free and I am not a professional editor/photographer)

Yeah, when it works, it's pretty awesome... but there are many more "misses" than "hits" some days... lots of trials and errors... trying to get my head around Illustrator, and failing miserably...

For the kinds of games you're interested in, you might start looking around any wiki pages they have. The users who maintain those pages tend to use high resolution images. On one of the Halo wiki pages, for instance, you can get hi res images with transparent backgrounds of Cortana and The Weapon.
