I have an official license for win 7. I would only want to install it on my mba 2015 so I can get the upgrade for free for win 10.

Are there any guides to install the drivers on it?

I believe I have to use an actual partition since I don't think a virtual machine will let me do the upgrade for free and then let me install the win 10 on a partition instead of virtually and consider it official?

Thanks!

Windows 7 has already provided limited EFI support. I have a not so intuitive way but it may work.

download an Windows 10 image from Microsoft, use it as target image to create Windows 10 bootable install media.

Then delete only Windows 10 install files, but not drivers. And copy your Windows 7 install files on it, and install it.

There are two problems however.
One is Apple boot camp driver would not be able to fit your machine.
The second is Windows 7 may not be able to install using this way.

I have considered this already. I don't want to waste time messing with a workaround that might not work.

Want someone that actually has tried or has a guide for win 7 on the mba 2015, but thanks.

In the end if all else fail I guess I will virtualize it.

Using Bootcamp:
Not possible according to: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205016

Using virtualization:
Install Windows 7 as you would on any "real" PC.

The drivers necessary should be handled automatically by Fusion or Parallels. And perhaps VirtualBox.

After install: Do Windows update a thousand times. Install Windows 10.

Your "free" Windows 10 upgrade will be locked to the "machine" in question - whether it's a real machine or a VM. By "machine" I here mean the machine as Windows sees it (ie. a machine compromised of virtual hardware or real hardware).

EDIT: Apparantly not possible to install Windows 7 on MBA 2015 - at least not officially.

You don't need to install Windows 7.

Windows 10 accept Windows 7 product key.

All you need to do is install Windows 10 and then use Windows 7 product key.
