I’ve owned both and prefer the smaller size. More discrete imo.

Maybe the battery lasts longer on the 40mm version (smaller screen and the cpu needs to push 30% less pixels).
Could that mean it’s faster too?!

Does anyone know the battery sizes in the series 4 watches?

I remember reading or watching something that states the 44mm has a larger battery therefore it will last longer.

I’m 5’4”, 170lbs (short but big arms), and I wear a 44mm S4. It looks totally appropriate.

My son is 5’7” and 135lbs (thin, slender features). He wears a 40mm S4 and it looks totally appropriate.

All comes down to your body proportions and personal preferences.

Battery is bigger on the 42/44mm models. They tend to last a bit longer than the smaller size does.

I'd like a 46mm AW. :D

I do see some folk with the 42/44 and it looks huge and a little daft on them.

When in doubt, use the credit card rule.

Lay a card on your wrist horizontally and if the card covers your wrist and you can't see it, get a smaller watch. If you can see you wrist, get a bigger watch.

i wear the size 38mm/40mm and im happy about it. all the 40mm exclusive bands are actually the ones i want (hermes double tour, modern buckle, milanese loop..)

Do guys prefer the bigger sized watches? I tried wearing a 44mm one in an apple store and it looked too big? Never had an apple watch before. Can you guys show some pictures.

I have quite thin wrists and wear the 44mm Apple Watch and certainly don't think it looks too big on my wrist (my wrist measures about 180mm all the way around) :

---- i recently upgraded my S3 40mm to a S4 44mm and while i love the larger screen i do feel like it makes my bands fit tighter? i don't have large wrists at all but i for sure feel a difference or maybe just because the size of the chassis but i definitely have to adjust my bands differently to make it comfortable

anyone else notice or have the same issue?

S3 38mm or 42mm? There is no S3 40mm.

But either way, the difference in case size will make the bands fit slightly differently, both in length and in how high off the wrist it is (different thickness in addition to different case length).
