Any hope for theme support in the SDK?

It seems that the current SDK does not support access to the desktop like a summerboard app would need. Do people think this might be coming soon? I'm holding off upgrading to 2.0 almost entirely because I like my custom themes. Strange that apple would stifle people's creativity like this. I've seen so much cool stuff with custom themes.

I think it's coming soon - as soon as 2.0 is jailbroken. I don't think Apple will ever allow that sort of fine-tuned customization, that's just not their thing.
