I'm asking about official support. I know you can install Windows 10 today and some people don't have issues, but the M290X in my iMac 5K doesn't install drivers properly. Installing the Win 10 drivers for the M290X from AMD website doesn't work either, so, I guess the official Bootcamp drivers are needed.

So, any idea when Apple will release the new Bootcamp stuff for Win 10?

Thanks for the reply. Well, I would be happy if it came with El Capitan, but to be honest, I expect it later. Maybe next year even.

It was just a "guess", so I could be way off. But to me it would make sense to release the update with EC or soon after. Does bootcamp assistant and all that get updated outside of OS updates on its own? My machines are old (both 2009) so I haven't paid attention to when they are typically updated and how.

The assistant gets updated with OS X minor and major releases, but the Boot Camp Windows software can be downloaded independently of Boot Camp assistant and run within Windows.

Yeah I knew the bootcamp support software for the windows side was an independent download. (My machines are so old I have to use version 4.0.33 or something like that.)

Thinking about it now for the assistant in OS X, that got updated for me with El Captian. When I was on Yosemite and installing the old windows 10 technical previews. I had to edit the plist for "windows 8 support" because it would only show "install windows 7" in the assistant. But now in EC when I installed proper windows 10 I never had to edit the plist and it showed "install windows 7 or later"

I'll still go with my "guess" though as to when the support software gets the new drivers for win10 and the 5k iMac hardware. Sometime at or around El Capitan's release.

I got an update to Boot Camp (to version 6) from Windows 10, drivers work fine now and everything runs ok :)

Only the display is still 4K. Which is fine.

Are the volume and brightness buttons working for you? Mine aren't probably because I don't have the latest drivers
