Any idea why Reading List will not save pages on iPod Touch G5?

"Safari now saves web pages — not just links — in your Reading List, so you can catch up on your reading even when you can’t connect to the Internet.4"

This is from the Apple iOS 6 web page. When you look at footnote 4, the iPod Touch is conspicuously absent from the list of devices this change is supported on. Does anyone have any informed theories as to why this enhancement would be device dependent, and not work on the new Touch?

No one responded to this, but I will note anyway that there must have been an oversight on the IOS6 page which has now been corrected to add the iPod Touch G5 to the list of supported devices for the offline viewing in reader list.
