I can't speak for anyone else but believe me when I say I'm not losing sleep over not having the opportunity to look at photos taken with a dual OIS camera on a narrow OLED screen.

I think this is how i felt about the 8+ screen size in comparison to the X. Plus the money i saved.

I do wish it had a better way to navigate, but i consume a lot of media.

Got the X and returned it for the 8 plus no regrets at all. Wish I would have never got the X - way too small - I’m an adult so went back to an adult size phone 🙂

Ask me the screen is bigger on the plus more content to read with better format. They make an X plus next year I’m in.

I’m sorry but what does being an adult have to do with wanting a mini tablet as a phone? I would never purchase a plus. Way too big. But I own a mini iPad so that fills a lot of uses.

I disagree. At the end of the day the only thing I'm missing out on is a slower biometric authentication... a slightly better camera that I could give 2 #*@&s about... animojis that I could give 2 *#*@s about and a narrow OLED screen with a notch in it that I could give 2 *#*@s about.

I got the 8 ... then got the Pixel 2 ... then got a replacement Pixel because of hardware issues only to have the replacement have the same issues ... then went back to my 8 again ... then finally decided I was stupid not to get the X all along so I just ordered one. It's been an interesting month, to say the least. Very excited about getting the X though. The 8 has been a flawless and wonderful phone, but after coming from the Pixel 2 and then seeing the X screen in stores, the 720p screen of the 8 just looked like hot garbage in comparison.

Maybe not you, but if you have added to the 100 plus threads about how much better your plus is then the X, then yes it’s justification. If not, then no.

Funny you named off how many things that were better about the X, but then tell me how you could not careless about them. It is in fact inferior to the X. Again the 8 design was just a money grab for Apple. What did you get over the 7 plus? Wireless charger and a fast chip. You have a 7S plus. Oh and just how much more narrow is the X again? Yeah barely.

7 Plus in the matte black was an awesome phone for me. Still a good buy right now.

No regrets purchasing my 8 Plus. I love this phone. I’m not going into my reasons again of why the 8 Plus was better to me over the X. I did that already.

If anyone went and bought the X after owning the 8, what do I care? The 8 isn’t a person that I would attribute feelings towards as if the returner somehow offended it. People are making decisions for whatever their own reasons are. I’m seeing strangers having keyboard conniption fits because another person posts why they bought the iPhone different from their choice or returned the iPhone that they have for a different model after determining it wasn’t right for them. It needs to be realized that everyone here is making their own personal choice and most here are fairly intelligent enough to know what is best for them.

But whatever. I’m over here happy with my 8 Plus and I’m hoping that others are happy with their phones as well. 8. 8 Plus. X. 7. 7 Plus. 6. 6 Plus... whatever iPhone you have... even the Samsung people who (while I’m not quite sure why) hang out here regularly as well.

It will most likely depend on how many improvements are made from the X to the Xs... and whether or not there is a Plus version. I'd have seriously considered the X this year had there been a Plus. Not everyone out there thinks the Plus is too big... it's perfect for me when it comes to everything from texting to watching videos.

Since I didn't have that option it was an easy choice to go with the 8 Plus. As for using it 2 years? I dunno. I used the 6 Plus and 6s Plus for the last 3. I somehow manage to sleep at night too using this "outdated" phone design and even still manage to have sex on occasion. My girl doesn't care what kind of phone I use... although she'd probably dump me if I got rid of the Challenger. 😎

To answer your question though... the lack of an X Plus carried far more weight in my decision. I'm sure I'd like the OLED but please, lets not for a minute say that it's leaps and bounds better than what's on the 8 Plus... because we both know that isn't true.

I don't know about you but as far as I'm concerned the cameras are good for Facebook photos and that's about it. If I was a professional photographer looking to make a purchase I'd be looking at a Nikon or something... because there are far better cameras out there than a cell phone.

Besides, it's not like you are taking photos and saying "Hey look! That was taken with a dual OIS camera!"

I will just point you this this review about the design. I will also put the quote from the article here since I am sure you won’t read it. I am not the only one that calls these hideous Phone surfboards. Thanks though.
