I'm not really the chat type. I used to check into the 68kmla IRC channel on occasion -- just to lurk for a couple of minutes. Haven't done that either -- in months.

One of the threads here recently had a comment about real time help. Don't know that I have enough free time to hang out and chat but it might be a way to help others.

PS: Yes I know there is a AOL chat thread, but I'm not installing AOL software when I can just do IRC in a browser.

Do any of you use IRC?

Not leet enuff for IRC, I reckon 😉
...remember the cool user-friendly ballooned text convos of iChat? LOL
I did use xchat or whatever it was called for twit lurking about 5 yrs ago.

I'd love a MacRumors iChat with its come & go ease-ability.
iChat always seemed so chill & friendly.

But does an iChat protocol still exist?
I'm so out of touch.

We had an AIM chat going for a while, but it died out. iChat worked with AIM, so you could message from the PPC macs

I've had #powerpc up several times over the past week at various times. So far I've seen 2 others pop in then right out (checking their client?).

The best way to revive a PPC chat is to announce a day & time. Start at once a month and go weekly (or bi-weekly) dependent on the level of interest.
