The magnets are not powerful enough to do much dammage. Just keep the strips pointed away from the magnets, and NEVER allow two strips to touch.

You are correct. They busted it.

    Why?
It's never harmed any of my cards.

    affect.

    Sorry, personal pet peeve.

There's something very important I forgot to tell you.
    What?
    Don't cross the streams.
    Why?
    It would be bad.
I'm fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing. What do you mean, "bad"?
Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.
    Total protonic reversal.
Right. That's bad. Okay. All right. Important safety tip. Thanks, Egon.

My mother has destroyed several Royal Bank of Canada Visa Cards by putting its magnetic strip up against the magnetic stip other cards. It has to do with how weak the RBC card was compared to her cards issued in the US, but I've also see in happen to random cards of friends.

Yeah I saw that one. Even an electric eel couldn't tamper with the credit cards.

I don't think money clips would be popular if they messed with credit card strips.

This is one of my peeves as well. In this case, it should be effect, because it has nothing to do with emotion or feeling, and everything to do with cause and effect.;)

    http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/affect
1obsolete : feeling , affection2: the conscious subjective aspect of an emotion considered apart from bodily changes ; also : a set of observable manifestations of a subjectively experienced emotion <patients…showed perfectly normal reactions and affects — Oliver Sacks>

And, yeah, the Mythbusters rubbed cards together with no impact.
