or still holding on to your jailbreak? what's the reason for holding back?

My iPhone 6s+ is still jailbroken on 9.0.2 (full untether).

Reason for holding back? I value my jailbreak. It allows me to make my device the way I want it and not how Apple thinks it should be.

As well, though, my usage of my phone hasn't changed since 2009. There's nothing Apple has offered as a 'feature' since iOS 6 that I have seen any need for. At the same time there have been plenty of tweaks/apps that have provided those 'features' to me and often in a better way.

Apple tends to implement JB tweaks in a way that is inferior to the actual JB tweak in my opinion.

I'm currently on iPhone 6 9.0.2 jb, but intend to purchase the iPhone X when it comes out on Nov 3rd.

This means I'll lose my jailbreak forever unless there will be a jailbreak for iOS 11 which I don't think will happen but you never know.

I'll be very sad to lose the jailbreak but I've to move on and embrace new technology

I upgraded to the 8 this week.

Can’t lie. Stock iOS is like a kids toy. You can’t personalise it in any way. No putting the toggles you want in co tell centre. No folder in folder. You can’t even remove app names and dock background.

It’s like a fresh install of windows before you’ve put anything you actually find useful on there.

I really hope there is an iOS 11 JB soon.

Same as eyoungren...sticking w/9.0.2 (And yes, my phone is proofed against the TIFF vulnerability.)

Nothing in ios11 for the iphone that is better than what I have now.

On the iPad...it's JB on iOS 7.

My 6S+ is still JB untethered on 9.0.2. How long do you think we can hold out on iOS 9 before apps will stop working?

Few days in and I’m beginning to regret the upgrade.

How do people deal with stock iOS long term?

There’s adds everywhere and ‘promoted’ adds in almost every app. Twitter and instagram are unusable there’s no many ‘promoted’ bull.

If I hadn’t have already restored it to sell I’d be putting the 8 back in its box and going back to the 6s until there was a JB.

????

What apps?

I can call, email, text and do some light web browsing which is really all I use my phone for.

If my bank apps bitch at me I just use the browser. But I don't use those very much.

PS. A little trick I've found that for me at least, removes an occasional app complaint such as "You need to upgrade." I have App Admin installed (it allows you to downgrade apps). I've found that if you go to the app that is giving you such a message and tell App Admin to downgrade, BUT you select the most current version and let it reinstall it takes away the complaint.

Dropbox recently stopped doing camera uploads and I did this and now it's uploading again even though it's not the most current version. Whenever my banking apps complain I do this as well and it stops.

But there is no app I NEED updated to do anything basic I use my phone for.

If circumstances had not happened I'd still be find on my iPhone 5 with 6.1.3 as there is still nothing I do that requires iOS 7/8/9/10/11.

I've learned to just tolerate stock OS but the biggest thing that still annoys me, and why Apple still hasn't given us an option to change, why does the clock have to be so big on the lock screen? Really limits the wallpaper you can use.

Yeah, an annoyance. And so far the same thing over all iOS versions.

I got rid of the jailbreak :(...I am now on 11.1 Beta 1......frankly got tired with the jailbreak. Hopefully in a couple of moths we will get a new jailbreak for 11.x...but....is it really going to happen :(

I know there was a JB available for the 6s very soon after release because I remember scrambling to get one soon after launch so I didn’t miss the window.

How long after the 7 was released did the JB become available?

I miss my 6S on 9.3.3, I can only dream of iOS 11 becoming jailbreakable.

My 7 plus is jb on 10.1.1 and I'm staying put.. I'm not upgrading till the next iteration of phones at the earliest, so I'm set for at least another year with this jailbreak. There's nothing on iOS 11 that I'd sacrifice my jb to have. With Cydia Extender and Extra_Recipe, this jb has been smooth and stable for me.

Only app I can't load is Plex.

No biggie as I only wanted the controls when I Chromecast to my TV...I just do it from my Android tablet instead.

Don't foresee needing anything else...I just might keep 9.0.2 on this phone forever. :)

My needs for my phone are pretty basic - iMessage, calling, YouTube, Goggle maps, Safari, Google Calendar, Notes and Weather Channel.

Only mistake I made was updating the Westher Channel app earlier in the year...now it loads about 2-3sec slower. I'm not updating any more apps.

I ditched the jailbreak on most of my devices a while ago. I only kept the jailbreak on one device for the LocaliAppstore tweak but that is gone now since I had to trade the device in for my new 8+. I do wish very much for a jailbreak on iOS 11 though. There's always something in a jailbreak that I love but can live without.
