i got the jet black plus after 5 weeks. boy its a finger print magnet and pain to keep clean, even with a skin on the back to protect the finish.

anyone here make a switch tot he matte black?

I don't own the Jet Black personally, but I have a few colleagues who switched to the Matte Black and much prefer it. The Jet Black looks beautiful when clean, but like you stated, it's a fingerprint magnet. I also like the stealth look of the Matte Black.

I tried, but am on a two year contract and Verizon wouldn't renew my upgrade on the 15th day, one over the return period.

I thin the jet black looks better, but I enjoy going caseless, which the matte black is designed for.

As it happens I did today. Went into my local authorised apple reseller and bought a matte black. Once it was setup and I was happy with it, I initiated a return of my jet black to apple. After waiting three weeks for it I'm returning it after owning it for three days.

It's not the finger prints that bother me. The matte is plenty finger printy compared to the space grey.

It's the fact that the jet black looks like a shiny black featureless blob. Apple doesn't help itself by showing the matte black, looking lighter in colour than it actually is.

Anyway. Enjoying the matte black immensely. The only fly in my ointment, is a slight defect in the finish of the bottom antenna band. It's got a couple of dimples on it. Not that I'd really ever notice, but I did the usual, I payed €889 so I'm inspecting it with a loupe… lol.

I would never. Jet black is the only reason I'm giving up my iPhone SE. Matte black looks decent, but jet black looks awesome.

I thought about it but the JB grip is unrivaled. I compared both at the Apple store and I much prefer the JB over the dull black of regular Black.

If Apple offers the same selection of colors as this year, I wouldn't hesitate to choose JB again.

So JB is easier to hold naked? I always had trouble with how slippery my Silver 6+ was..
I've ran all my iPhones naked, and JB is definitely "grippier" to hold, I wouldn't say "easier" if you have small hands (referring to the + size).

I know there are a few folks in these forums who like to argue about how JB is more slippery than even the original matte colors, but this is false unless you have dry crusty hands. Even in fairly cold and dry weather here, JB is still the most grippy phone I've had in a while. I recommend checking it out in the Apple Store and actually holding one yourself.

My hands are average male size. Size was never the issue it was more so the 6+ silver wasn't very grippy.

I just did this today. Got tired of the amount of work you had to do to keep the Jet Black looking decent.

Had my jet black in an apple silicone case since day one as I'd have any other color.

The times I will use it naked. No regrets. I guarantee. 95% of the people viewing this thread from their phone right now have fingerprints on their screen.

Wipe them off. Move on with life.
