My wife has the 44. She tried both and really liked the larger screen. She’s now stuck on that size since she has 30+ bands. Bought our son’s girlfriend a 40 for Xmas last year since she is petite. She had the option to swap it for the larger version but liked that size.

I’ve had the 38mm Series 3 whilst my brother had the 44mm Series 4. I was debating which size to order so tried his on. Since I’d been wearing my own I did notice a difference but it was mainly in the screen, not in the size of the watch itself. I’ve been worried it would look comically large on my wrists but can confirm it looked fine!

I have the 44mm Aluminum Gold S4. I love the size and it don’t feel big on my small wrists.

I’m a woman with average-sized wrists. (Nobody says ‘wow what big wrists you have’ or ‘wow how do you hold up your hands with those wrists?’) I have both the 40 and 44. When I wear the 40, I think it’s petite and looks like the “right size” on my wrist. Then I put on the 44 and love how it’s bigger and everything is easier to see and read. That is to say that your wife will likely find be able to find happiness with either.

My household is on 38/40mm. 2 guys with pretty slim wrists and me. Whatever is the most unobtrusive as the 2 are hesitant watch wearers and I have a fairly small wrist.

I used to wear the Apple watch 2 38mm thinking the 42/44mm are too big. Then 1 day I tried the 44mm and big difference! Love the big screen and it’s easier to tap!

It looks bigger coz of the bumper. Extra protection coz I always hit the watch on doors and tables! barely even notice the size anymore.

left is the series 2 38mm

Love my 44mm, but I’ve never been a dainty watch wearer. I tried out the 40mm & it looked fine on my wrist, it just wasn’t for me. I have medium size wrists. I’ll post pics in a bit.

My wife wears a 40mm but she’s 5’2” and tiny. I don’t know many people in fact who have a 44mm apart from a couple of bigger guys at work? I wear a 40mm because it look more in proportion on my wrist and less like a screen slapped on my arm.

Depends how big the person is

My gf does and she is 5’0. It doesn’t look big on her wrist and she likes it.

The reason she went with the size initially was because I gave her my old S3 42 and she wanted to keep with that size to use my 42/44 bands.
