Any legal issues for hosting apps for download ?

    Just a quicky -

    looking to host some Mac specific files from a website -

    Like handbrake - and other software that's Free or Demo

    what are the legal issues if any ? need to get permission to host ?

    Any top tips:)

    I don't think you'll get any issues, if it's a demo you may maybe need permission.

    thats what i thought - but i will email the owners of the software for permission just in case.

    Is there some reason why? Unless they're nightlies from svn or something, it would be a hassle to update. Easier to point to the app's website :)

    good point - but i was looking to archive the App versions - v1.0 v1.1 ect as well as

    for instance - take an app like rapidweaver - and do a history on the previous versions what's been added took away blinged up ect . as well as host the older versions too -

    i have other ideas for them too but i can not go on about it just yet. :cool:

    With paid apps, I'm not sure archiving older versions is a good idea...
