Just unboxed a LG 27UP850-W and I am having issues with USB power not turning on when the monitor restarts. The only way I can get them to turn on is to unplug my USB-C cable and plug it back in.

Is this a Mac issue or an LG issue?

Same problem here, just connected the LG 27UP850-W with the same problem and using so far the same workaround, replugging the USB-C. It would be good to know if the 32UN880 users are having the same issue.

I have the 27UN850-W and don't have this problem. I am using the USB-C cable that came with the monitor. Have you checked your monitor settings for Automatic Standby mode, and also for Deep Sleep Mode?
Note *
• UsB HUB functions will not work in standby mode while Deep sleep mode is enabled in standby mode.

See the user Manual.
Also have you looked at LG's support?

Thanks for the response, deep sleep was disabled by default and I have disabled automatic standby mode. I'm also using the USB-C cable that came with the monitor and tried resetting the monitor and using a different cable. Glad it works for you though.

To recap, the monitor's USB hub works when I reboot my Windows machine so the monitor/hub may not be faulty. My other monitor's USB bub works when I reboot my macbook so the macbook may not be faulty. This leads me to think that it is maybe a compatibility issue between my macbook and the LG monitor. But if it compatibility issue, how come it works for you?

I'm using 14" M1 Pro running 12.3, which device do you have?

Thanks

I have the same issue, pretty sure @samitro means his works when waking from sleep not after restarting which most LGs seem to suffer with on M1 Macs....

I have the 27 UP850-W and no issues with my M1 Max Mac Studio but I had to use my own cable, not the one that came with the monitor because somehow it didn't work on both Mac and Windows PC.

I had a M1 Mac mini and I experienced so many issues with monitors (BenQ, LG), so I sold it and got a Mac Studio...

Well currently I'm trying to address another stupid thing with this monitor. Got 3 monitors for my home office and all of them on the top right corner (an inch or 2 below the corner actually) have in the same place a bigger gap between the plastic housing and screen. So when I put these monitors beside each other, there is always a gap, looks pretty ugly. Weird that all of them have the same gap in the same place. Have you noticed this?

Edit: not talking about the difference in color, one is good, one has yellow tint and the 3rd has pink tint but I'm hoping I can address that with calibration.

thx, your's seems ok eventhough mine on the photo doesn't look that bad either, I would be fine with it if I didn't have multiple monitors beside each other

I think you should contact to LG support and ask for replacements.
Here's a different angle of mine.

I have 3 monitors and checked another 2 in LG store, same story, all of them made in China with different dates. I have even one ordered from Amazon from another country and it has the same issue. I guess I'll try to find an alternative, a pitty as I really like the monitor a lot but looks like they droped the ball on QC.
