I was wondering about two Gear4 cases.. the Battersea and Crystal Palace. Does anyone have any experience with these cases? I mainly use the original Apple cases. How do the Gear4 cases compare? Are they much heavier/bulkier? How about the clear case (Crystal palace).. is it a fingerprint magnet? Does it yellow? And how clear is it, compared to the original Apple clear case?

I love Gear4 cases. I have the Crystal palace,Holborn and Hampton cases for my 11 pro max. There is no need to worry about the cases yellowing at all as they come with a warranty. The Crystal palace is as clear as they get. Get one and enjoy your new phone.

I also love Gear 4 cases. This company was recently purchased by ZAGG so at least the cases are shipping from within the US now. I have always had the Battersea for past phones and I love the orange 3DO interior.

The Battersea for the iPhone 11 Pro Max has the wrong grill cutouts on the bottom so I passed on it this year.

I have the Battersea (11 Pro) and really like it, with a few caveats.

Weight/bulk: Depends on what you’re comparing it to. All of the Apple cases are noticeably slimmer and lighter than the Battersea. None of the Apple cases are nearly as protective as the Battersea however, so that’s to be expected. Compared to cases with similar manufacturer rated levels of protection, the Battersea is slimmer than most. If you are eyeing the Battersea because you need a higher lever of protection, then you shouldn’t mind (and will need to be accept) the greater thickness. if you you are eying the Battersea only because you like how it looks and don’t need any more protection than the Apple offerings, then you will probably not be happy with the greater thickness.

Fit: Perfect, but note that the speaker cutouts are symmetrical - i.e. the left speaker cutout is the same size as the right speaker cutout. Some have pointed out that this design doesn’t reflect the fact that there are fewer speaker holes on the left than on the right. After trying both symmetrical and asymmetrical cases, I’ve decided I don’t have a preference. With a black case on a black phone, it’s all but impossible to see and no one would notice that the case cutout on the left extends past the last speaker hole.

Aesthetics/Feel: I love the look and feel of the back, which is matte with concentric ribs. I do not like the look or the feel of the glossy sides other than that I like the visual contrast between the back and the sides. I may actually try to make the sides matte.
