Especially in light of the new 17e, which is a step ahead of the 16e, is there anyone here besides me singing the praises of the "old" 16e? I got mine a little over a month ago and am very happy. Relatively speaking, it is as strong as my 8 Plus and my 13 that I used to use. Monster A18 chip, great UI, simple but beautiful. In the "flood" of iDevices (iDevices -- see what I did there? lol) introduced in the past few years, the 16e seems a little lost in the crowd . . . but a very capable smartphone. Anyone else loving their 16e phones?

The 16e is just as good a phone as when it came out. The 16e is light and has a great battery life. But a new model (17e) has come along that has the same qualities, but with a few improvements - and at the same price. So it's clear that the 16e suddenly becomes irrelevant. But it's still clearly a really good phone, and it will be for many years to come, so enjoy it. I've had it myself, and I was really happy with it.

I tried both and I noticed the 16e has better/balanced battery life, specifically on wifi but cellular isn't "bad" either. 17e beats it on cellular, but battery sucks compared to the 16e on wifi. I also found tests online that confirm the 17e has a "worse" battery life than the 16e to confirm my hypothesis. One test particularly demonstrated that 16e lines up right behind pro maxes in terms of its battery life meanwhile the 17e is around/slightly behind the base 17 model battery.

I've noticed that - I've had the 16e for maybe 1-1/2 months (give or take) and it's not unusual to see it at 75%-80% at the end of the day (when I have the Charge Limit set to 100%)

My fiancée’s younger cousin got a 16e earlier this year to replace his aging 2nd gen SE, unfortunately the 16e was stolen while he was out, he will be getting another replacement soon though after his final exams.

I really like both 16e and 17e, I think for most people they are all the phone one needs unless like me you like large maxed out phones.

I think it is a perfect blend of power, efficiency and good camera.

Congratulations and enjoy it!
Got a 16e last year, and a 17e this year. Very happy with both. Can't go wrong with either based on value and functionality.
Congratulations and enjoy your new 17e, any major upgrades from the 16e that you are noticing? Is the battery life even better for you?

I completely agree, 16e or 17e are perfectly fine for most people's needs. With me, both have equally good battery life. The only model difference for me really is MagSafe missing on 16e, but boith charge similarly on my non-MagSafe charger. Also 128 vs 256 GB, but am not a huge user of storage anyway. Chip performance shows no noticeable difference either.
