The Mac Mini forum is filled with desperation due to the lack of an upgraded Mini for such a long period of time. Are there any late 2013 nMP owners out there who upgraded from a Mac Mini to the nMP?

If so, I'll bet lot of Mac Mini guys (and girls) would be interested in YOUR experience with your nMP compared to your old Mac Mini.

Mac Mini owners are eyeing the nMP with serious consideration… and are wondering… what it would be like… to take the big $tep up?

No need to offer advice whether the nMP is "necessary".. It is YOUR experience with your nMP compared to your Mac Mini that would make a great read.

What nMP did you get that replaced which Mac Mini?
Of keen interest to current Mac Mini owners will be those of you who purchased the 4 core nMP.

    Ok.. let er rip.

I did not upgrade from a Mac Mini to the nMP, but I do have both computers.

I'll be interested to hear if anyone has made the 2-3x cost leap to the nMP from the Mac Mini. You REALLY have to have outgrown your Mac Mini to want to spend that kind of money on a nMP.

If you were to ask me where the Mac Mini makes sense, I would offer these two situations:
    1. A headless server or as a HTPC where dual-core and IGP are plenty
    2. An entry level system for someone who doesn't want an Apple display

I carefully qualified #2 because I believe anyone that likes Apple's displays and is satisfied with the computing power of a Mini, is better served by an Apple laptop or iMac.

Neither is really a candidate for a nMP so I can't see new Mac Mini buyers opting for a nMP instead.

I have a 2012 refurb Mac mini that now sits in a drawer waiting to be cleared down before going on ebay. Used it for general home computing attached to a 24" Sony Bravia TV.

Lovely setup but could not resist buying the nMP as soon as possible. No valid reason except I just wanted one! Got the stock quad core version from an Apple reseller a week or so ago and love it.

Have now ordered the new Dell U2414H monitor which will arrive tomorrow to partner it.

The nMP makes the old mini seems very pedestrian. Expensive mac but worth every penny whatever you chose to use it for.

I'll be doing the opposite, I have a 4,1 Mac Pro at home, and my next Mac will be a Mini.

There's no denying the mini is an excellent machine. Powerful, small, silent and inconspicuous. Very like the nMP in some respects except but without the WOW factor!

I'd have to say I'm very unimpressed with the performance I've seen from three different minis. Does not compare even to a 2008 Mac Pro.
