I've studied Aikido and Iaido during my senior year of high school (about 6 years ago - damn I feel old). I didn't care for my dojo, but I really do like the art. If I ever have the money and time, I would definitely start again.
One reason I like it is because I'm not very competitive. I'm either fighting or not fighting - I see no sense in trying to beat people up for the fun of it (I also don't take kindly to being hit). Last year one of my friends learned the hard way that I don't like to wrestle or spar. He put me in an under-arm choke hold (the only way he can put someone into submission), and I told him to let me go a few times. By the third or fourth time of him not letting go, I grabbed his leg at the knee, and rolled through, flipping him on his back, and pinned him down. People don't wrestle with me any more.
I also still remember how to count to 99 in Japanese (I forgot the word for 100).
