Title says it all… Not a big fan of the larger phones but the 15 pro seems to be the smallest of the new phones. With the mini gone and rumors of the SE to be going bigger, this might be my best option. Even 16 rumors have it going bigger.

Anyone upgrade and if so thoughts?

You may question your decision for a few days but you'll get used to the size and weight. I promise. I was an iPhone mini apologist but eventually made the switch for better battery life.

I traded up from a 13 Mini to a 15 Pro.

I still miss the size of the mini. Having a bigger screen isn’t a luxury for me since I work from home, have a MBP and iPad 11 Pro with a Logi keyboard case. The latter is my favorite device. However I’m happy to have USB-C and a telephoto lens.

The biggest gain by far is in battery life. I no longer have battery anxiety. Furthermore I like the improved image quality when taking photos. I didn’t expect a discernible difference but it was noticeable even when I took my first photos 5 photos with the new phone.

Other features like dynamic island or always on display don’t impress me as I have an Apple Watch Series 7. But overall, I’m happy with the change - especially because I received good money for the 13 Mini.

Our son is 6’4” and you would think he would want an iPhone 15 over a mini.

I went from a 13 mini to at 15 Pro. Took a bit to get used to the size again. Felt like an iPad for the first several days.

If a 15 mini was a thing, I might have gotten it, but ultimately the 15 Pro is pretty nice. The 120Hz display is beautiful to look at and the cameras are certainly impressive. And since the standard 15 and the 15 Pro are essentially the same size, I saw no reason to limit myself to the regular 15 instead of the Pro.

Only gotten it yesterday, but also did the switch.

Honestly still seems HUGE to me. Thought i had gotten a Max at first.

But it seems pretty okay to hold so far. Which is not that surprising, because the X was pretty much my limit and the width of this one is a bit smaller than the X now. The rounded edges also help make it comfortable again. Back when i tried the 12 Pro it was a bit bigger than the X and the sharp edges were also "cutting" into my fingers/palms, which is why i ended up going with the smaller and lighter Mini.

Will need more time to get used to the new format though.

Battery seems amazing on the first day after full night charge so far. Almost 17:00 and i'm still at 75%. But i'm a pretty "light" user. And turned off AOD, because it distracts me.

Somehow the device seems notably faster and fluid. Not sure if this is mostly because of the 120Hz display or the CPU/GPU as well.

Other things i noticed:

- haptic feedback feels stronger and more satisfying (the Mini got a special smaller haptic engine)
- speakers are better
- my screen is "cooler" and i could actually see myself turn on true tone. on the mini 13 (and 12) it was too yellow with it. even without it, it always felt like it was turned on.

My 12 mini broke earlier in the spring, which was replaced by my old iPhone X. That helped the transition to the 15 Pro because they are actually quite similar in size and handling, especially if you're using a case. I got used to the 15 Pro within a week though I miss the accessibility of the mini.

I find the battery to be not much better than the 13 mini. I suspect if I turn off the always on display and 120hz it will be much better. Some day just for fun I'll experiment with that, but honestly the AOD was the main reason I got it. I also took side by side comparison shots between my 13 mini and the 15 pro and pulled them into Photoshop and enlarged to 300%. For well lit shots, it was hard to see a difference. The 15 shots do have a little more detail but that's not something you're going to notice unless you zoom way in. For night shots there is a noticeable difference. I would say if you don't do a lot of night shots, it's not worth upgrading for the camera. I do like the ability to do portrait shots after the fact, another feature that Apple could have brought to older phones.

12 Mini to 15 Plus here. I couldn’t deal with the battery life on my Mini anymore, and the screen was becoming too small for me. There’s obviously an adjustment period. The Plus is huge in comparison, but I got used to the change surprisingly quickly. The phone isn’t heavy (I don’t use a case), and most importantly the battery life is unreal. Screen is great too (don’t need 120Hz).

Wife has a 13 mini and I have the 15 Pro. I like the fact that I can do all day on my 15 Pro and the wife is looking hard for the charger cable as she has made several phones, has done a FaceTime call with the grandkids and then plays a couple of her games on the phone.

I also done the same in any given day and will still have over 60 percent left while the wife is plugging in to get more juice for the rest of the day. My wife never charges her mini fully but to 80-85 percent and starts to plug in at 25 percent or so. I just charge my up fully and then ignore the charger for day.

Turns out the action button is my favorite new feature. I'm using a shortcut with a list of Apps i want to be able to access quickly.

Former 12 Mini owner, recently upgraded to 15 Pro. Adjusted to the larger size very easily. The 15 Pro may not be ‘Mini’, but it is still a compact and nice sized phone (I think the size is just right). An unexpected bonus from the 15 Pro is the brightness of the display when using the phone outdoors. After 1 month, it still impresses me every time I use the phone outdoors.

Just traded my 11 for the 15 Pro. Charger port on 11 failed just like on my 6&8 thankful the new iPhones have a better charging port and cord also charger is much better didn’t enjoy in not included wit the 15 but so it wasn’t.
The 15 Pro. Is light years ahead of my 11 everything is better, longer battery life super better camera, keeping it in an Otter Defender Pro XT $70US meets the military 6 foot drop test.
Like when I went from a 6 to the 11 took some getting used to, but won’t go smaller again 15 Pro lot easier to use.

I upgraded from the 12 mini to 15 pro and while i enjoy the new 15, I miss the form factor of my mini.. i decided to go case-less and have apple care to help with the size transition.

Replaced my 12 mini with a 14 Pro last year and I’m still not used to the size and weight. It’s bearable to me now though.

Even the 14 Pro’s battery life is starting to become just as bad as my 12 mini’s. Had to turn off AOD and promotion just to get the phone to the end of the day.

I mean, I still miss not being able to easily reach every corner of the screen. I guess the re-adjusting the phone in the hand to reach the top of the screen just became second nature to me after a week or so.

Thankfully, I usually always have about 30-40% battery left when I go to bed each night. I never did use AOD, thought.

I got a 15 Pro on launch day and while I really did like a lot about it, for my use the 13 mini is still a better fit. So I returned the 15 Pro and went back. Still holding out hope for a smaller Pro someday.

Same hah. I’m like…. I think they gave me the wrong phone! I came from a 12 mini and the battery improvement is so welcome! I even have AOD turned on. Dynamic Island is a nice touch and comes in really handy as an information tool.

The ONLY thing I’m bummed about is the action button doesn’t work in your pocket. For me, that’s a giant fail since I wanted a way to skip songs while the phone is in my pocket.

I’m hoping in a future update you can customize the action button a bit more like have a double click do something different and change the click speed like a quick press can do one thing, a double press can do something else and a long press can do a third thing.
