Any MSI R9 280X Gaming 6G OOB success?

MSI R280X Gaming 3G works OOB, but has anyone tried the 6G? I would assume so but would like to find out more before I order one. I scoured the webs and couldn't find a definitive answer... Mavericks and Final Cut Pro X usage.

I'm not well versed in this area but check to make sure the PSU can handle it on your 1,1... I couldn't find anything on the internet about the R9 280X Gaming 3G working on a 1,1 but nobody said it couldn't either... I might just go ahead and get the 6G to put this issue to rest and report back. If anyone has any experience or can help either of us please respond 🙂

I found something that discusses this: basically the consensus is the 6G draws too much power - I would stay away if you are considering buying one. I haven't heard horror stories from 3G owners so that seems like the safer bet.

Works, but only unflashed. On internal power without problems (power related at least). One downside: screen flickering from time to time. I can only recommend one as computing-only unit (no displays connected).
