I am a .mac member and use backup to, well, back up my files. But I'm thinking of upgrading to Leopard and was wondering if there's any advantages of backup to Time Machine? From what I can tell Time Machine is just a better version of backup so I can't see any reason to use backup?

Time Machine will do everything you need as long as your computer is regularly connected to the external disk used by Time Machine.

The only thing that it doesn't protect you against is a fire at your home or theft; if both your computer _and_ your backup disk are destroyed or stolen at the same time, then you're out of luck.

THAT is a good point I never thought of that! Thanks for your help!
