I'm honestly just curious. Anyone know of any new-ish documentation on the rollout of 7.2 mbps 3G? A roadmap? Estimations? Anything?!

while having pizza over with my boss, he confirmed it would be out tomorrow.

no need to be a jerk...I didn't ask when it was coming out. I asked if AT&T released any documentation lately regarding an update on its rollout.

your snide remark is unwelcome IMO

Forget 7.2 Mbps, has any iPhone user in the united states even seen close to 3.6 Mbps yet?

I consistently get around 2 Mbps on 3G.

I thought what he said was funny. No need to blow up at him. I think he posted that for comedic effect rather than insulting you.

Cincinnati

I usually only see 1.5Mbps in Cincinnati

the advertised speeds are only theoretical maximums if you're by yourself using the cell tower at just the right place and it has a fast backbone. i average around 1.2mbps in NYC, which according to Boy Genius Report is the average AT&T speed reported from around the country.

He also did a verizon survey and their average speeds were slower.

I thought what he wrote was funny too. I was going to post "late summer," but decided not to after the blow up.

As far as upgrading the speeds go, I think we'll get that fairly soon. It might have to do with helping MMS and tethering, but IDK for sure. I've seen some news about it, but didn't pay it much attention, since I care more about them fixing what they have now. However, I get 1400-1500 in my area.

I am only getting 686kbps so I would be happy with even 1MB.

I get 700kbps on my 3gs, but what a farce to advertise such a cold day in hell pipe dream.

Full bars, and 3g... And while in Chicago which is city that is supposedly on with 7.2; I never saw north of 1.7 mbps.

7.2, never in the 3gs IMO.

Show me a pic, even 1 (non photoshopped of course )

I get this outside my house... shows full bars 3G.. woohoo :D
