why would they just render their Calendar.app useless to so many users?
they did it for exchange but still ignore google calendar…

Adding a private calendar event to a calendar that is shared...so that the shared users don't see it. Not sure you can even do it on Google's own calendar app.

Current workaround would be to have a separate calendar for private events.
