It seems that since i updated to SL i have been using 2Gb of RAM at a constant, while when I was had Leopard it was maybe one. I have 4Gb of RAM so its not a huge deal but I was wondering if anyone else was having this issue at all or if this is normal. I included screen shots of Activity Monitor and iStat.

Out of that "used" number, you have ~ 556GB inactive, which is available to other applications, should they need them. So, you really have about 2.4GB free for use.

I'm sure SL does take more RAM than Leopard, but I haven't done any comparisons myself. The only time you need to worry is if you're getting a large percentage of page-outs (you have zero) - then, you might think about adding more RAM. You'll probably be just fine with 4GB. Attached is mine, for what it's worth (the total shown is 3.75, as I have a dual GPU model).
