What airline do you fly that has replaced 3.5mm with Bluetooth?
We don’t have control over what technology airlines use. If they want to stay behind the times that’s on them.

Consumers have all moved on from 3.5mm jacks to wireless headphones.

But we have control over what cellular connection type we use… if-say- we are traveling and want the dirt cheap rates via SIM card vs. the premium rate via eSIM if the destination even offers eSIM at all?

And what happened to “forced”, like eSIM will be forced everywhere? Airlines are not “forced”? Hotels are not “forced”? Etc.

Of course you do. You can pick and choose what phone you have and what networks you use. Just the same way you can pick and choose what headphones you want to use and pick your phone accordingly.

Most people just don’t want wired headphones anymore and have wholesale shifted to wireless. It took Apple removing the 3.5mm jack to instigate that change else people would have kept using their old wired headphones.

Likewise, people will shift to eSIM once their iPhone stops supporting physical sims, and then Apple can enhance the device with the space saved from having to accommodate any SIM cards.

…until they are on the plane and want to watch in flight entertainment… or in any of a multitude of situations where the “force” did not force the change.
Huh? Apple has no control over what airlines spec for their planes. They can only control what they spec for their own devices. It would be on plane manufacturers to force a change there.

If airlines want to force consumers to use 3.5mm jacks then that’s on them.

Apple successfully forced the mobile phone market to ditch 3.5mm headphone jacks. Apple will successfully force the market to ditch SIM cards.

I don’t know why you think Apple has anything to do with the plane infotainment market.
