I'm still loving my Pebble, and am defo considering an watch. Anyone else?
Yeah! I actually absolutely love my Pebble, and the main reason why I went ahead and got it was to hold me over until the Watch (I got my Pebble last Christmas). I am definitely getting the Watch when it comes out though, the only thing I'm gonna miss and I'm not gonna lie is the battery life, its not a killer for me though, so I don't really care.
I love my pebble. A pebble running android wear would be my perfect smartwatch (assuming it still maintained great battery). I can swim, shower, and beat the hell out of this thing. It reminds me of a shark freestyle watch.
Which we don't even know anything about so how can you arrive at this conclusion?
My Pebble (Kickstarter) is outta here once I get an Watch.
I already gave mine to my son when my Omate Truesmart (true dumb) came in. I had high hopes for it but they abandoned it and it never did BLE or any notifications from other phones. I miss my pebble for the notifications and stuff without having to look at my phone. This is the main purpose I will be getting the apple watch.
I think I'm going to stick with my Pebble for now. The Watch has some nice features to be sure, but outdoor readability and multi-day battery life are crucial to me.
I've been watching the smartwatch wars for a while now. I think Pebble is going to be my choice only because it's cross-platform and I flip platforms frequently. Blackberry, Samsung, Apple. Like the Gear 2 and Apple watch, but must be practical.
Pebble uses e-paper and apple uses oled. Do the math.
I just checked out the pebble website.. the thing is $150 and is plastic. I would not be caught dead wearing that thing. For stainless steel pebble I need to pay $250. No heart rate sensor. No ability to integrate GPS. Makes apple watch look like something from the year 2050.
Did i mention it looks ugly as hell?
Yeah, one of the most useful times with my Pebble is when I'm driving. And if you wear your watch on your left arm, which is the side by the window, prepare for lots of sunlight. It still makes me smile how sunlight actually makes the Pebble display look even better.
I'm eventually going to move to the Apple Watch but I have a lot of fondness for my Pebble and how the battery lasts and lasts and I never worry about getting it wet.
I have loved my Pebble but I'm going to be getting an Apple Watch. My 11-year-old daughter already has her own Pebble, so I'll have to sell mine when I upgrade. I'm sure the values are already dropping on them.
I'd like to see what the next gen Pebble features. Actually, after reading this post, I find that the Pebble Steel is actually something that I'd prefer to the Apple Watch. The Steel looks a lot cleaner to me and actually draws me away from the matte black version. I see I don't need all the apple features nor price. This would seem to work great with the 6 Plus given that it's better lasts longer. Thanks guys I didn't even consider the Pebble Steel before but I'm sold now!
Yep, have the Pebble and enjoy it for what it is, but it'll be put on the shelf once the aWatch comes out. It's one thing to get a notification on your wrist - but a whole different animal to be able to respond to it.
I've been with Pebble since the kickstarter days. Had my plastic original pebble for a year or so and then upgraded to my Pebble Steel. I've had my steel since it became available. Pre-ordered right after announcement and was one of the first shipments. I love it, the steel band does get a little worn out over time but the functionality is great. Will be getting an Apple Watch for sure though, pebble is just filling the need for now!
Love my pebble with a black steel band, the factory band did look a bit nerdy. It does everything I need a smart watch to do, and I don't notice it's there until I need it. Am getting around a week battery life with it and I have been wearing it all year. The limited battery life and non-waterproof design of the Apple Watch are a definite turn off for me. I'll probly just get the pebble steel or a newer model if they come out.
While Pebble is a great watch, I think it may need to be completely designed to compete. I think that many people like myself, bought the Pebble because there was no Apple Watch.
Pebble will continue to exist as a toy watch company after arrival of Apple Watch and it is the one, actually.
Precisely. I also am very confident that the Apple Watch won't face the same issues with the iPhone that the Pebble does.
Toy? As something that provides notifications on the wrist, the Pebble is still the better product. I can pretty much guarantee that you are going to be straining your eyes to see the Apple watch outdoors.
