And you know this because...?

Current mobile quads have TDP of 45W-55W while MBPs use 35W CPUs so there might be a drop in battery life. IF Clarksfield goes 32nm, we may see a 35W quad but if not, we have to till Sandy Bridge. Of course when 3 of 4 cores are idle, the battery life will be pretty good but under heavy load, the battery will drain a lot faster

I am looking to get a new 15" MBPro and was wondering how much of a hit that battery life will suffer with the new quad core CPUs? I know they run hotter which equal more power.

Will it drops the power available a couple of hours or more?

If the drop is significant, I will quit waiting and go for a 2.8 or 3.06 dual core and less money!

who said anything about them having Quad Core?

Remember when Apple stopped selling removable batteries?

I'm thinking, what if the new technology is SO AMAZING that Apple doesn't even include the option to plug the laptop in???

The laptop's batteries last for 5 years without re-charging. If you need a recharge, simply take your MacBook Pro to the Apple store for a replacement laptop.

Now, THIS is taking the MacBook Pros to the NEXT LEVEL! ;)

Unless you absolutely need it, buying a MBP now would be pretty silly since the new ones will very likely be out next week.
Maybe I'll see you on Tuesday at the Apple store in the Towncenter! :)

I bought a MBPro for my VP and will buy another for me after the new units come out;)

Not sure if I will see you at Town Center as they only will carry to middle of the line products. I would have spent $4000 on a MBPro but they did not have a 3.06 CPU or 256 SSD. I will likely have to order it through the Internet!
