I have two Pro XDR. I think it is the best monitors on the market, I like the large screen size. I also have a 45 inch 5K2K LG monitor that I use to play game.

But when it comes to reading and browsing the internet or just do work, the Pro XDR is so much more comfortable to my eyes. Texts are sharper and color is soothing to look at compare to the LG 5k2K OLED.

Now with the new Studio XDR, if you are coming from the Pro XDR, what is your experience, is it really better? How do you feel going from 32 to 27 inch?

I also do not like connecting to external speakers. I like to have a clean table. I have a Razor Nommo Chroma at the moment. Is the Studio XDR speakers close in quality to the Razor Nommo Chroma?

I've used the PD-XDR as my main monitor for going on 4 years now. I'm a professional photographer and I agree with you, it's the best damn monitor I've ever used in my life. I guess maybe the 30" Cinema display is a close second.

With that said, I just picked up the new SD-XDR today. It's definitely impressive and you can tell the 1k vs 600 on the brightness. I lowered it two notches to match the brightness between the two. Just imagine a baby PD-XDR. The screen size and bezel size is also noticeable. Not sure I like the downgrade. I primarily bought it for a second review monitor but maybe one day switching full time and moving the PD-XDR as a preview monitor. at the moment I'm having a hard time making the SD-XDR as my main. Speakers are OK but nothing to write home about. I have Bose system connected and it doesn't come close but I wasn't expecting that. Camera is fine.

Honestly, I need a bit more time with it but if you have the funds, get it or replace one of your PD-XDR's.

How is your experience coming from Pro XDR to SD-XDR? I am really debating if I should get the SD XDR? I really love more Pro XDR

It's been fantastic and I'm debating using it as my prime display and transferring the PDXDR as my second. I'm using better display now to crank the PDXDR close to 1k nits as for some reason I find the PDXDR very dim. Didn't have this issue before. My biggest hangup is the screen real estate. I love it so much on the PDXDR. The blacks are better on the SDXDR and color seems a bit more vibrant. Text clarity is about the same with maybe the SDXDR edging out. The PDXDR does seem a bit more "natural" looking. It's a true 10 bit panel so I'm wondering if that has something to do with it. I don't use the speakers but the web cam is very nice to have.

How do you feel going from a 32 inch to a 27 inch? That is my biggest worry?

After writing that post, I switched my monitors around so that the 27 was my main display and 32 was my second display. Instantly regretted it. The SDXDR felt tiny so I reverted back to PDXDR as main and SDXDR as secondary. I can't give up that screen real estate unfortunately even if the new display is "technically" better. I'm using the 27 as a proofing monitor now which is what I intended it to be.

That is what I am most worried about.

I am so used to the two 32 inch Pro XDR displays. I am really afraid everything looks small. I doubt the 120Hz is really going to make much of that difference....but....the Studio XDR is indeed better in every aspect but the size, I also like to have a monitor with good speakers...I hate wires from speakers

Not from a PDXDR but just from a Benq 32”; going to a smaller display was strange first but I noticed it help me to focus more and also appreciate having to move my neck less.

What I have started to use more is stage manager and dedicated desktops for partícula screens.

I usually do not have more than 2 apps side by side and 27” is great for it.

Overall I am very happy with the change. I have a more opened desk, less neck tiredness and more focus on top of the fantastic image, sound and webcam. Plus this display is 10 years future proof.

Would you buy a 32inch XDR display with 120Hz if Apple made it next year?
