Any reason to keep .ipsw files after updating?

After I update an iOS device, I usually have the .ipsw file in my trash. What I have been doing is dragging the file out of trash and keeping them all in a folder. Can these be used for anything after the fact or is what I'm doing just a waste? Thanks in advance.

If you need to restore your iPhone, you'll save some time by not having iTunes download the firmware again.

But for the old versions there's no reason to keep them.

The thing which gives you the ability to downgrade or restore your phone if they update to 6.2
