I just purchased my first Macbook Pro last month. I wanted to know whether I should be getting a USB-C or USB 3.0 based drive. I also wanted to ask whether an SSD would be preferable for this, or whether a fast enough traditional drive would do. Thanks!

G-Tech USB 3.0 2 TB desktop model at Apple has proven reliable, and at a good price point. I'm getting one for dedicated time machine back-ups.

Merry Christmas!

So you have the newest Mac Book Pro so did you get the touch at model or the no touch bar model?

The touch bar mode.

I will look into this. Thanks and Merry Christmas to you too!
