I am in the usual process of giving my son my old iPhone (in this instance iPhone 8+ he already destroyed 6+ and 7+) and switch onto the 11 myself both are on iOS 13 and I see no reason to upgrade unless there is some real advantage and no slow down due to "ageing" of the 8+, would you recommend the upgrade to both or what?

Grazie

Well, there's bugs.. would have expected nothing less..

Yet way more mission critical is the trancing for medical purposes being ON by default with iOS14 and you being rid of the ability to get rid of this!
A decision, which one may think is reasonable or unreasonable, yet I like to be asked.

& in particular, I do not like the fact that Apple and Google make an agreement amongst themselves to now go all in w.r.t. their ambitions in the medical sphere and in the midst of that, simply taking a joint decision - a decision, which they are only able to take this lightly, because their joint market share and covered customer base makes 'disagreement and ultimately denial of using an operating system distributed by people who... do not care to - well, ask?' a step (that is as of now, still - hopefully not for long!) of utmost inconvenience.

The second aspect to that is the constant use of these processes in the background, which were before they were ultimately implemented, prognosticated to be of huge burden to battery life (maybe someone with an iPhone 8 and the latest iOS can tell us more?) and thus ultimately device lifetime.

I from my perspective, can only recommend you to stay the hell away from it.

The latest MacOS with their 'courageous' feature - rather anti-feature, in that it is telling apple each time you use an app - eh Apple? Didn't they just spend a decade promoting their stuff as the 'privacy conscious' buyers choice? This act, on top of that in iOS shows a clear strategic direction, these decisions are consciously taken, fine - they may be, but that will take place without me.

-wouldn't you all agree? It's not like those OEM lockdown and monitoring measures by in the past (to my recollection Samsung and LG, and others..?) were topics of great debate and circles of Apple users equally one's of great mockery, with many blaming those who buy (pick your favorite xD) Samsung devices, Android devices, cheap devices, non-apple garbage,.. you all know well enough what the fanboyeria liked to grime about back in the day.. xD-

Apple now does new bad things - So you say what MacRumors?
