Some previous MacBook Pros were afflicted with hardware problems.

For example, the butterfly keyboard, the unreliable AMD GPU, some had battery problems, keyboard connector cable problem, glitches on the display, ...

Are there any reports that the new 14" MacBook Pro M1 Pro has any systematic* hardware problems?

* = not odd faults, but design flaws that lead to above expected rates of failure

It's too early in the life cycle to have any reliable information on failure rates.

Ten days in, and this MacBook is the best I have ever used, even eclipsing my 2015, and blowing away my 2018 with C4.

The SD card reader seems oddly inconsistent in how well it reads cards, which might be a hardware issue.

I got mine today and WhatsApp and NordPass won't open on it? Both say that they have quit unexpectedly and to press reopen but that doesn't work. Any ideas?

I have had my 14" for 34 days. Key board failed on day 33 (of course) and now will not function (it types only "wingdings"). I have to use an external keyboard just to log on after shut. down. Disaster for productivity for a work computer.

See Apple's work order.

Problem Description/Diagnosis

Issue: Keyboard is typing strange characters
Steps to Reproduce: Functional key looks tilted
Pulled keycap no damage or liquid residue
Cosmetic Condition: No cosmetic damage
Proposed Resolution: Replace top case
Mac OS Version: 12.0.x

Memory Size: 16

Apple refuses to exchange, even though they cannot tell me when the parts will be available.

I would avoid these new Mac book Pros until Apple works out their teething pains - or they stand behind their products for first adopters. I knew it was a risk - I didn't think it would go South so soon....

I have had my 14" MBP for three weeks and am still stuck contracting at a bank writing scala code.

I assumed the purchase would lead to an exciting career in the creative sectors surrounded by lots of attractive people.

Usually the systematic hardware problems reveal themselves pretty quick, and you see the "Gate" posts all over the place.

This is the first time I have felt this comfortable purchasing a new generation MacBook, I have typically waited a few years in. I don't think I have read so many satisfied customers on a new generation anything.
