Just curious if anything new or exciting is coming, or if it’ll just be the same ole thing.

I've seen some rumors about design changes on the ultra 4 like thinner glass bezels and 10-15% reduction in thickness. I also saw something about touch id being added but that seems pretty unlikely to me. Since there was hardly any design changes in the ultra 1-3 I would be shocked if they didn't make some kind of change but after the disappointment of the series 10 "redesign" my hopes aren't very high. A thinner ultra with the screen stretching all the way to the titanium would be an instant buy for me.

They say they will improve the heart rate feature. Not sure if it will be a software or new sensor to improve it. Apple is working on more satellite features but not sure how far that will go this year.

opionion: the watch is a reasonably mature project for the time being, just expect incremental improvements until there's a tech breakthrough especially with the current inflated memory/tech prices

Tbh i’d be fine with the same size again with more battery.

The ultra does pretty much everything i want, the size is fine, but if we could get 4-5 days out of it that would be great.
I have no need for 4-5 days of battery. I would gladly be happy with a less bulky watch. This is because we are different and each have their individual needs and wants.

Yeah the Apple Watch 11 is amazingly thin and can last a good 1.5 days without much fiddling.

My Ultra 3 can last 3 days pretty easily with my setup. I am still attracted by the Garmin Instinct 3 Solar Tactical because of its battery life (even though I don't need it). Charging the AW when I shower is convenient and not an issue.

I write this while wearing my Japanese made Casio GW-5000U-1JF G-Shock watch that ... received atomic signal last night to be 100% accurate and doesn't need charging ever (22+ years on the lithium cell). That feeling - knowing this would easily last 20+ years is really nice. lol.

But I don't think I can give up the Apple Watch. It just does so much. Always accurate, health data, activity data, ability to set verbal alarms/notes/voice memos, ability to keep phone on silent all the time and limit notifications to only important people (favorites list), haptic alarm when sleeping while being reachable by spouse/family (favorites list), flashlight at night when I need to pee (getting more common as I get older), Mac OS admin prompts, ability to open my front door / apartment complex doors without carrying my cellphone, easily reading the time at night, etc.

I used to love my G-Shocks back in the day, and this sounded like a good one, so I checked into it. $330 - too rich for my blood! Sticking with my Ultra 2 - probably forever, LOL.

I imported it from Japan and got it for low $200s - build quality is amazing - it's heavier than my AWU3. But yeah, I think I am in the same boat as you - Ultra forever. I just can't live without the features and the accuracy that doesn't require me to put it in the window (like my G-Shock).

My work sometimes requires me not to wear my smartwatch so ... the G-Shock comes in handy for that. But not having a clear readout of the time during night shifts (without having to press a button) and ability to set verbal alarms (have to be in certain locations at certain times) sucks.

I swore this would be my only G-shock, but I just spent $71 on a Japanese G-shock beater yesterday so I don't ... damage my 5000U during dirty work shifts. https://www.sakurawatches.com/casio-g-shock-digital-gd-010-1jf lol.

As someone with an Ultra ... stick with it if your work allows. Don't get bit by the G-shock fever. 😀.

I just can't say enough good about the Ultra. Best watch I've ever owned (Had the AWU1, AWU2 (for 2 years), and now the AWU3).

I love all those "little things" about my AW that you mention and then some, but, I sure hope that Apple will offer more health related features this year and not turn the AW into some "AI" thing, and we should find out one about that later today. If they do, the "AI" thing, I'll have to rethink what I'm gonna do longterm re AW, though will say that a G-shock is out of the question as I can't stand digital watch faces 😉
