what i guess is, macbook won't have big change (including number of port) because it is a "extremely portable cloud-notebook", targeting customer to purchase more iCloud storage.
Until Intel up their game and build the Alpine Ridge features into the 4.5 W CPUs and allow Apple to put in two ports (as on the base MBP). Seems to me Apple of old would have publically called out Intel for dragging its heels on this rather than trying to pass off the single port as a design choice (which then suddenly falls by the wayside when the technology supports two ports...)
