I recently noticed that Apple refreshed their MPB line with new processors.

I was disappointed to see that the top-of-the-line 15" model still features the old nvidia GeForce GT 750m GPU. Are there any rumors concerning apple updating that GPU anytime in the future?

The 750m is seriously lacking compared to other standard laptop GPUs like the GTX 870m or even 860m.

I want to upgrade from my mid-2010 MPB but the 750m gpu is such a huge turnoff. :(

    Thank you!

860m uses a bit more power. 850m seems like a better bet. 870m no way in such a thin chassis and on an 85W adapter. Remember that the rmbp 15" 750m does not even have turbo enabled.

The GTX 800M/900M Maxwell cards will only show up in rMBPs when Intel Broadwell makes its way into the rMBPs.

The 850m does sound more realistic. I hadn't even thought of the chassis size.

Any idea when that might be? Has anyone heard anything about Apple working in that direction for the next rMBP update?

That depends on when Intel ships the Broadwell-HQ CPUs. The earliest we'll see them is mid-2015.

Blame Intel for the delays :)
