Why don't you folks post? No questions, comments? Just wondering.

See- there's a post :D

Because not everyone has the inclination or will to interact with people on forums (a lot of them being utterly rude and contemptuous morons, present company excluded :)).

Why should we care why the people that don't talk, don't talk? The more I interact with strangers in a text-based manner online, the more things get misunderstood, and the more furious I get with people (generally they are loud mouthed Americans [not saying all Americans are, but they are more likely to be American], who force their agenda forward, and you almost instantly become an '4ssh0le' or a 'douchebag', just because you don't agree, or say something they dislike)

This thread is pointless. They do no have to post.

OK, I'll post. Watch...;)

I don't think anybody suggested that anyone HAS to post. Seems to me the thread has been a lighthearted look at low frequency posters.

A lot of anger there.

OK, all Americans are ***holes. Lucky thing everybody else is all really nice:rolleyes:

Yes, I'm so angry over a piffling & nonsensical, throwaway little thread, written by a stranger. I'm now going to ensure it spoils my entire day, and don't you dare try and stop me!

Yes, I really stated that all Americans are ########... that's right. :)

Oops

Guess I should be posting less.

(Darn, there's another post :p)

Sometimes I feel like the old man around here, but then I realize that most of the folks around here don't know who I am either. There was a time when I tried to be more active, but I came to the conclusion that I was just posting for the sake of posting and just adding to the noise. So I stopped talking and started listening. I have heard people with great joy and great sorrows, people at their best and worst. Most of all, I have met people I would never associate with in my day to day life. And I have learned from all of them. And I would like to think I am a better person for having listened for most of the last nine years instead of dominating the conversation.

I post occasionally, often when I read a thread most of what I was going to say has been covered already or I don't know much about the topic so I don't tend to bother adding my 'voice'.

Been reading for awhile, only signed up recently. I tend to get caught up in forums and forget my rules about Arguing on the Internet™, so I try to keep a moderately low profile in order not to elevate my stress level.

You have the wisdom of the ages in the sound of your voice - world-weary but compassionate with it, - a bit like Morgan Freeman's character in The Shawshank Redemption; anyway, I've hit the "up" arrow, but just wanted to add to that and to say to you, what a lovely, life-affirming post, and please feel welcome to post more often. A voice such as yours is a more than welcome addition to the virtual world.

Cheers:)

One more vote for the post of the year. Lovely...:)

Most of the time i just can't get myself to engage in the endless "should i buy X or wait" and threads with obvious trolls. Got more active when i got iPad1 3 weeks after launch, but now that iPad2 is out and dominating those forums, little incentive for me to post. Too many Android vs iOS debates too... oh well. I'll still stop by every day.

I am on here every day and have been reading since early 2009. So I guess I am pretty young here :p

The trophy would go to ffejbean. He registered on 5th of June 2000 (the day MR forums opened) and has made one post during his membership. Of course, that is when you exclude the members with zero posts.

He probably died on June 14, 2003, at 5:21 PM which is the last activity that he's recorded as having.
