I'm on a quest to find a pair of speakers that have had as much work put into their design as the sound itself. In other words, I need speakers on my desk that won't look like eye sores in comparison to an iMac.

A couple on my list of considerations right now are:

Any other recommendations, thoughts or ideas are more than welcome. Thanks so much!

I have been running these for years now on my G5 PPC 20" iMac (Finally ordered the New 27" iMac). Ive had No problems with these speakers, clear sound, excellent bass response, and I think they look great

How about Audyssey Media Speakers? These pop up on woot.com from time to time for $80 and they're very highly regarded. I was using Audioengine A2s for a long time but they had a weird mid-bass resonance that I could never get rid of. The Audyssey sound more balanced and for the price I paid ($80) they really couldn't be beat.

Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 2.0 speakers are also pretty awesome, but they're long discontinued. I managed to find a brand-new pair of silver ones (I already had black ones) on closeout from Vann's a while back so if I'm looking for a change someday I'm might swap out my Audyssey speakers with the Klipsches.
