I'm upgrading to the 7 from a 4s. Are there any legitimate trade in websites that will give money for a 4s, or is this model just too old at this point? Gazelle doesn't even list a 4s as an option. Don't really want to sell on eBay...

You can try selling on Swappa. You can probably get $60-100 for it depending on the storage size and condition.

You can order an iPhone from Apple (or buy in-store, if you live near an Apple store) and specify Verizon as your carrier. It's no more difficult than buying direct from Verizon.

Verizon also has a trade-in program, but I think they'll offer even less than Apple. You can check your phone's trade-in value with Verizon here:

Yep, Apple's price is higher than most. You can go into a store and trade it in towards a new iPhone, it does't have to be a 7 and they will put it on the Verizon account for you

For $50 i would keep it as a spare\backup phone, iPod duties, for secondary line or give it to a family member.

My goodness. I can't imagine using a 4S all this time and then making the jump to the 7.

It'd be like being born in 1780's, hopping in a time machine, and arriving in the 3100's.

Two years ago att offered a $200 credit for the iPhone 4 and 4s. I traded in my old 4, but not the 4s as still wanted to keep it as a backup. Was hoping they would offer the same last year but they didn't. I regret not trading in the 4s then too now. But not willing to trade it in for $50 today, still worth more than that to me as a backup.

And of course I just got a small crack on the screen yesterday after dropping it. I imagine it is useless now to trade in (if anyone would even take it).

I'll probably just keep it at this point. It's slower than snot though, so maybe it will be of value in 100 years as a vintage phone :)
