Have been unsuccessful in removing the screws with the P2 pentalobe tool. Confirm the tool works with screws on my iphone 6 plus but not the screws on the BCB watchband.

Screws actually look larger than my iphone 6 plus. Any ideas?

Video doesn't actually show the band being removed so wondering if I am missing somthing

So you're trying to remove the watchband from the watch?

If so, there are no tools required for this... just press the button right above where the watchband connects to the watch body and slide the band off to the side.

No - what he's referring to is actually removing the metal loop from the connector (it's held on by two tiny screws) on the classic and modern buckle bands. You can then use any standard watch band.

Have you seen this video? (the particular pentalobe screwdriver they use is linked below the video)

Thanks, yes I saw the video, but hoped any pentelaboe screwdriver would work. I have the T2, but the one linked doesn't say what version it is outside of it being for an iPhone 4.

I went ahead and ordered the exact one but wanted something faster.

Apple published the specs for the band mechanism:
https://developer.apple.com/watch/bands/Band-Design-Guidelines-for-Apple-Watch.pdf

Page 8 of the document has the details you need.

  • Use pentalobe driver #2
  • The screw size is M1.2
  • The screws are held in place with threadlocker (Apple doesn't specify exactly which threadlocker)
  • The screws are to be discarded and replaced if you remove them

Wonderful thanks, seems like that corresponds to T4, which I do not have, but will wait to receive. Interesting about the screws being replaced, given the person in the video reused them.
