All iPads Any university students here using iPads?

...I would like to point out that Microsoft's Surface is a VERY GOOD device for taking notes. I got one for my dad and I tried writing on it in a few classes. It is better than iPad in that regard. Add Microsoft Office to it and it is a great device.

I would have to agree that the Surface 2/Pro 2 are far better suited to a university student. There are several major advantages that make it more productive. The Pro 2 isn't exactly cheap, but compared to the cost of schooling these days..

If your 13" MBP is too heavy for you carry around, I suggest you try sell your MBP and buy a MacBook Air?

Google docs or anything based on Latex helps with typing equations and things.

True, but for most people I'd wager it's a lot faster to write it by hand, which is kind of important when taking notes.
