Hi all,

I currently use a macbook 12" with the apple multiport adaptor but would like to know if there are any docks witha longer cable as I would like to hide all the conections away under the desk rather than all hanging off the side of the macbook! Tied using an extension cable with the apple adaptor but usb didnt seem to function correctly!

thanks

All DOCKS that I've seen have a detachable USB-C cable. ex. My OWC USB-C dock came with one that is about 3 feet long (roughly). I can buy another longer one if needed. Now, if you are referring to USB-C hubs/dongles, no, those are designed to be portable and don't have long cables. That's how my HooToo Shuttle is (which I like and wouldn't want a long cable on it at all to be portable.

But they could make them with a short detachable cable. It would be even more portable. In some cases you have to bend the attached cable which is prone to damage. A short detachable cable could solve that and would give you the possibility to attach a longer cable if you prefer that.
The docks are made with detachable cables so why shouldn't it be possible for hubs as well?
I use an extension cable with my hub that works most of the time. Pleased with it.
